ok then, a filter that would be used on a race engine, so that it has higer flow rates (?) and most importantly has higher fitlering capabilities. As my oil is as black as midnight after 5,000 Km

Dont think a quality filter it will have any performance advantages, but will filter better and flow more therefore cleaner oil, and a better running engine, ideal for 'performance', dont you think DD???

What kind of oil are you running? It may have something to do with it going black quicker.

Well there goes that theory

So I am assuming it is Mobil 1 then? I have used Mobil 1 in my other car and it stayed pretty clean for 10,000km's.

Sorry but I don't have any other suggestions

I know its fuel injected but is it running rich. This could cause black oil. However rare on electonic fuel injected motors.

Also probably not the case as I assume the engine is new but the rings could be worn allowing blow by down into the crank case making the oil black.

Also remember if you flog it heaps you will have to change the oil more reguarly.
