Must look sweet with the black flares and wheels. I personally like chrome much better but for your build I agree with your choice. Hurry with the pics.

Damn mick I'd kill for chrome bumpers, mine were painted (by the previous owner) and so they have been hit with an orbital sander, we could have just swapped. :(

Ohhhh well.

to me, all chrome means is glow show and useless. unless its standard on the car i guess. acsually what i think im trying to say is chrome rims are discusting, sorry to anyone that has them but they are completey useless. back to the black bumpers, i love them. my mate did it on his orange coupe, poweder coated everything that was chrome on the car black and it looked unbeleivably tough.

I personally think chrome is great.
However if one's chrome work has faded over the years and one cant aford to have them re-chromed, its fine to paint them black.

I guess, everyone entitled to their own opinions.
But my opinion on old cars and chrome, well they go pretty good with each other and think that painting over chromework thats stiil good, is sad, cause this give these older car personalities.

As for guys thinking that black paint on chromework gives it a newer look, think again, cause nowadays, the new cars are going retro, with more chromework and having less black bumpers and trimming.

CHROME KICKS ASS.

Cool. Black bumpers are excelent, black or else same color as the car, but chromed? ... my personal opinion, with due respect to chrome lovers,...I do not like chrome, I am the enemy of chrome, I like a Datsun with 13X8 or 13X10 wheels, max backspace allowable to keep the most tire inside the car,235/50 13 's or 235/45/13 tires, overfender flares, black wheels,no chromes, lowered. Chromes are flashy, look weak, demand lots of care and attention to keep shinning, and that shine is exactly what I dislike, too much fanfare. Perhaps for a car designed for show, but for a performance racy Datsun, chromes are not welcome. Imagine a formula one car, with its blck wheels, the tire /wheel combo looks heavy, strong, business, now, imagine it chromed.....no way, it is not the look. Chromed wheels to me is like putting white band tires in a racing car. Those tires that have a white rubber strip all around. Sorry, I think the topic here is not wheels, but bumpers, with bumpers, depending on the car, chromed bumpers are acceptable if it was like that factory(although I prefere colored)...but still acceptable, a 1200 with it's chromed bumpers is not bad(although could get better)..but chromed wheels, NO WAY!!! Chromed wheels is the worst. Just my opinion. Dude, your black 1`200 bumpers are excelent, next to chromed ones, your's will look twice as tough, although it is just the same bumper, good choice!!!!

yes i totally agree on the chrome rims part, chrome rims are ####ign hideous, i like plain old alloys. or even shadow chromed are growing on me (nothing to do with chrome/shiney) but the chrome i was refferring to was chrome trim, bumpers, guttering etc, i love it, and old school = chrome. white wheel tyres are ####ing cool though, i love them too, 100% old school.

I've seen Indy cars with chromed wheels and I reckon they looked sweet!

And I'm not knocking painting things black at all, but it's not really my cup of tea.

In case anyone's interested, you can get non-metal parts chromed here in NZ, can't remember where, but my cousin got his taillight surrounds for his 810 done. Looks good too.

Oh, and whitewalls get two thumbs up....
