I was wondering if anyone in melbourne could help me out. Im about to start my dream (ca18det in a ute) hehe, and ive been finding out info to obtain an engineering certificate. An engineer i was talking to sed that if i used stanza struts with ba xr8 calipers and rotors(hoppers stoppers kit) that im putting too much strain on the struts. what struts and brakes should i use?? are 200b struts the same as stanza? if anyone has done a ute in melb could i have the number for that engineer!!
thanx

Im speaking to my mechanic as what brakes to convert to very soon im running stanza struts and brakes at the moment but we are going to upgrade to a bigger disc and calliper.
We will upgrade to a very large blank disc and adapt it to the stanza struts then adapt R32 GTR callipers he has never told me anything about to much stress on the struts.
Cheers Luke

you can get pad "knock-off" if the stub axle flexes. If its a road car, I doubt you'll ever encounter the problem as your tyres won't be capable of generating those kinds of forces. But it will probably also be overkill.

There are common and pretty cheap upgrades such as the Commodore caliper and Magna disc which will give you fantastic braking performance without breaking the bank. Plenty of details around if you use the search bar.

Stanza (Girlock caliper) brakes are adequate for road use

Im using 240k struts with hilux calipers on the front off my ca ute and the engineer said he would pass it no worries it all depends on the engineer that you are using. But in saying that mines hasnt agreed with everything that I wanted to do on my ute you just have to play buy there rules

DPI here in Perth have issues with brake conversions, but not if you have a hi-po vehicle with stocker brakes!!!

the 1UZ doesn't need a brake upgrade according to these nutters!!! i'll be doing one though, but i won't be letting them know about it!

i found out the guy was saying that he thinks the callipers would brake that hard that i would rip off the braket holding the calliper to the strut. He is a goose, haha. i spoke to another engineer and like yours pro-240c, they said the car will pass the brake test with pretty much anything. haha so i think ill be changing my brakes after the brake test!!

Are you speaking to Engineering Signatories or just mechanical workshops with Engineer in their title? Engineering Certificates come from Engineering Signatories
