I remember their being a similar thread as this a while ago and a member told a story of how he threw a brand new H165 L.S.D centre in the bin.
Not a week goes by when I have not thought about this.

I have, however, brought a coupe back from the dead. I bought a 71 coupe parts car complete with several 5gal buckets of parts. I got the car to not only to run, but to pass the California smog check. I rubbed out the paint and polished it all up. If I could have kept it I would have, but I had to sell it. I sold the car for what I paid for it, $400. It cost me over $200 to smog it and have it registered. Yes I kept all the extra parts, but it wasn't $200 worth.
I believe one of the "spare" parts was the Datsun Comp manual that I scanned and posted on this site.
Four thousand seven hundred and twelve of you have downloaded it.

Hmmmmm dinting every panel, driving it up and down a river bed, hotboxing it, roof/bonnet surfing, using it to "push" people............. and the list goes on

First I had a 1000 sedan immaculate with an a12 and four speed was a great first car till I wrote it off and sold it for $250.

Seccond I had a 1000 sedan with an a12 but I also had my current SR-datto the 1000 was a seccond car that sat out on the street till the brother of the guy with the orange turbo a15 1000 knocked on my door and said do ya wanna sell it, I said no but you can make an offer he offered like $1500 and i only paid like $400 so I sold it (the next 1000 im gunna keep 3rd time lucky).

Third Cant really afford to fix my SR1200's Clutch at the moment so I might be forced to sell it PM me if interested cause it would be a shame for it to have to be re-engineered after the rego runs out not to mention a waste of money.

And my mate once ghostied a stanza of the cliffs at Coal Cliff , that would have been cool to see though.

hmmm... i had 2 utes.... i stripped one and chucked the rusty shell then i ended up selling my other one with all the parts... and it had a ca18det and stumpy box mounted in it..

i hate myself for that...

but im paying for it now becuase there were so many parts that i had 2 even 3 spare of... which ive had to go out and find and purchase AGAIN to build up my green ute

let that be a lesson to all of us!

when i first got the ute i got a BIG box full of all original parts for the 1200. not knowing what was in there i gave it to the wreckers for free. i also sold the original rims with mint hubcaps for a slab of jim beam

i went back to the wreckers to get it all back and he said he sold 95% of it for a wealthy sum

live n learn

after hearing you're sins I can feel comfortable talking about my most eveil crime against Datsuns - finding them for my brother Datsuns. the first was an emaculate BRE rep 510 he killed it with a leaking o-ring oil filter. He was to lazy to walk the 1/4 mile to the parts store for a $5 filter. it siezed due to lack of oil pressure - a SCCA friend is restoring it now.
second is the worst - I found a $400 1200 and got it running knowing full well he would let his drug addicted alcoholic former girlfriend drive it - of course she wrecked it.
My saving grace was I removed all the valuable parts form the car such as all the good trim. I also gave the resulting hulk to a wrecking yard where the owner is a 1200 nut.

I've always thought of myself as a Ford man, but going through all the cars I have owned, there have only been 2 Fords but 4 Datto's/Nissans. I guess I'm a Datto man after all.

The worst crime I have committed against my 1200 was to sell the old ute off for parts after it finally died. Two days after seeing it towed away (for buggy parts no less) I bought another 1200 ute. While I did take some parts off the ute, there were plenty more I should have taken. Now I find there are other parts I need or would like to have.

Damn that s&@#s me.

i have done several things that i regret very much. I stood and watched as my mate cut the roof of a immaculate 1200 sedan. He then went 2 cutting the doors of and then pretty much turned it into a wreck by cutting every panel, door and movable item of.
I went 2 the local tip one weekend 2 find an elderly couple dropping of 2 datsuns, a 120y and a 1600, they both went but where just sittin in a paddock and where no use 2 them. The only thing they removed where the batteries, after the started them up and reversed of the trailers. They even left the keys. Now 4 the bad part, i was so stupid 2 not jump in and drive them home!!!!!. I just threw my rubbish of and hopped back in the hilux and drove home!!!, god i hate lookin back on that day!!!!!. Owell, life must go on
