Yes you can, this has been a regular topic on this forum and OZDAT.com, and i think it comes down to preference, but i would suggest BP ultimate 98. it leaves everything cleaner inside the engine and you get better fuel econemy.

There are many that will say this is ok, but my workshop manual says that the exhaust valve seats in A10 & 1200 engines [not necessarily all A12's] are cast iron. If this is true, then this material is not good with lead free fuel.
You pays your money, you takes your chances.

dammit! i was just gonna say that!

A10s are different to A12 - A15s - you'll need to fit brass valve seats or run LRP.

i checked on some BP site and they say that 120ys can run on regular unleaded. They also say datsun 'half ton utes (A12)' can use it. A few petrol stations down here in tassie arnt selling LRP any more and where it is it is heaps more expensive.

So does anyone here use regular unleaded on an A12 without an additive??

PS got any pics of your 1000 wagon, pro240c

The 1000 wagon is in a large amount of bits at the moment but as soon as we can get it together we will post some pics!
