I'm trying to replace my drive shaft, but in Trinidad those kinds of parts are very hard to find, I can't even get a five forward gearbox for my A15 . Anyhow, does anyone know if there is any other drive shaft that can be used as a replacement or a substitute? Can I take a drive shaft from like a Datsun 1600 or a Laurel; a Cefiro or a Skyline and just use the shaft from it, cut it to the correct lenght and weld on the ends from my original drive shaft to it? I will be getting it balanced of course.

If antone has any suggestions I will appreciate it. Thanks.

You can use the shaft portion from any drive line and have the ends from your old drive shaft welded on then balanced. Alot of speed shops in the USA do this with aluminum shafts.

Of course make sure the length and diameter of the shaft are correct.

Good Luck.
