Well after driving my car a few times i decided to change the oil and check everything out we notice a oil leak near the turbo further investication found oil also in the intercooler piping and the intercooler itself.
Reving the engine a few times showed a pool of oil developing in the comp cover of the turbo, F#*k we said blown turbo.

Now this motor was purchased from a importer now the funny thing is the motor seems in top condition low kms all good so why would the turbo be so sh*thouse.
After pulling the turbo off last night we notice that is had only recently been pulled off which makes me think that the importer in question decided to make more money by pulling the low km turbo off and selling it seperatly.

Luckly my mechanic who is an absolute champion has lent me a turbo and a bigger turbo too off a SR20 while i save up for my GT28.

So in closing if anyone is after a cheap T25 off a CA18DET which will need new seals im selling the blown 1 make an offer could for your A series turbo setups the turbo worked fine held boost an waste is in could nik just needs to have the oil seals replaced i can find out how much it would cost too.
Cheers Luke

The importers never warranty the accessories. All you are buying is the engine and the hang on bits are a free bonus.

As the turbo blew so soon, I think the shaft may have corroded. This would carve up the seals as it began to work hard under load.

There is a case for getting the turbo checked before use, even on an import engine as they can be expensive items.

As far as I'm concerned, if you buy a 10-15 year old motor from a wrecker, expect to rebuild the internals and turbo ect.

Your not paying ALOT of money and nor are they making alot.

Not talking about this case in particular, but this is where people get caught out on conversions, expecting to stick to an exact budget and not looking at the bigger picture.

But hey, its all for the best, you got a t28 and now going to work harder to get to that GTBB.
