call rare spares.... $40 bucks each surrounds and lenses.
Nissan wanted $120 for lenses only and when i went to pick up it suddenly balloned to $180. gald i didnt leave a credit card depost. Be careful ordering through nissan, if they are not stocked parts they will try to make you pay for them as the dealer mus t order them in with a no return policy according to the sob story the spare sguy was telling me. claims they were going to kick his ass. Funny thing is my rare spares lenses have the same casting marks as the nissan ones.

A lot of my spares I got through nissan were pretty dodgey in quality. I had to completely modify one door handle, as it simply didn't work! This may be difficult for some people to hear. The handle didn't fit in the door due to oversized return spring. The hinge pivots were drilled offcentre in the casting.
The repeaters on the guards, were second rate quality too. The screws that hold them together, didn't have the polyethylene insulators under them, so when I tightened them up, to a very light torque, I cracked both of the brand new lenses. So be very weary when installing those suckers. So the $400 tail lights from Nissan may consist of a $200 telephone call to rare spares. Chris

Nissan seem to be quite the rip off artists, i ordered a clutch cable from Nissan Motors near Kingswood, NSW the other day they said it would be 67 bucks, but upon returning to pick it up they were asking something like 80 so i explained the situtation and they corrected it thankfully. Im really keen to purchase some clear tailights though, they look nice but im not sure about them on a datsun though. Sure would make ur datto quite unique, ive nevers seen one with clear lights.

went back into nissan 2day and had a complain 2 the manager, he did a search on the parts and all up it cost me $95(he gave all the lenses 2 me for trade price). The guy who served me yesterday said i would have 2 wait 1 month 4 the parts but it turned out they had all the bits in stock.Quite a massive price diffrence between $461 and $95, 366 dollars in fact, amazing some people these days!!!!!. The new lenses look a treat anyway!!!. Who knows where u can get chrome surrounds 4 the tailights??????. By the way a mates (astroboy)hes a member on here, was sent some clear tailights as like a promotional thing cause they bloke thought they would look good on his car!!!!!. I will get more info when i can

I used to own a wrecking yard just down the road from a holden dealership. We used to sell a loft of aftermarket headlights etc...I noticed their delivery van delivering to the holden dealer and taking in the same boxes we were selling.
