hey im kinda new to the whole "gettin a new engine in ur car" thing and i had a crazy idea of gettin a 280zx engine(i think its an L28) in my datsun sunny. i was wonderin if anyone knew if it wud b possible that it wud fit in my dato????

yeah, it'll fit. It'll take a lot of modifications, some of which may be beyond your ability, but with enough tools and talent, it will fit. Your first move should be to use a tape measure to measure the engine and measure the space you want to fit it in. The engine is bigger than the compartment you want to fit it in if that gives you any ideas. Your front suspension will sack out, so you'll need to upgrade that. Then you can try to get it licensed. That may prove to be impossible depending on where you are.

the L series sixpots are VERY heavy - like heavier than a hemi six. your car would be a bucket of snot to drive thru the twisty stuff - but have a great power to weight ratio. if you're a newbie to engine conversions then i suggest you either give it a miss or pay someone to do it.

i know an RB20DET fits in there quite "snug" though...

lols yea im kinda hafin 2nd thoughts now..... i herd it will cost me about 3-4 thousand 2 haf it put in by sum1 that knows wat they r doing ...... so im thinkin of just getting a 13B turbo in it :P
