The pop up lights got stuck in the up position one day on mine but it was a $10 or $20 fix at the auto electrician's. Very cheap to repair.
I just tried to find the logbook from when I owned mine so I could let you know what I did suspension wise but I can't find it. From memory I fitted some middle of the road gas shocks, slightly lower springs and a fair bit of fiddling with the front alignment i.e. toe, camber and castor. All pretty standard stuff which did help a fair bit.
