1964 Datsun Truck
Just popping in

I am restoring a 1964 Datsun truck and running into some road blocks. I have an A15 engine and want to know if there is an after-market intake manifold and headers. If so, where can I purchase them? Also, the truck gages are all positive ground and I want (need) to convert them to negative ground. What do I need to do to make this happen. Any help would be much appreciated!!

If you let us know which country you are in it would be a big help.
Using the term "restoring" & "A15" in the same breath is a bit confusing. If you were restoring it, you would use an original engine, so lets just say you are "rebuilding it"

Sorry about the confussion regarding the '64 truck, I am actually asking the info for my husband who is currently in CA, USA working on the vehicle. He went with the A15 engine so he could get more horspower out of the vehicle, but he is trying to keep the looks of the vehicle as original as possible. Again, any insight, info, advive is much appreciated!!

Ok, lets see if that worked. I tried to keep this post all together. It appears to me that she replied by hitting Post New Thread.

In answer to your question regarding manifolds; yes. Find out from your husband whether he wants a single or double sidedraft manifold or does he want another downdraft manifold for a holley or weber? Headers are available new from Australia or New Zealand. Should be cost effective to ship both to the West Coast.

Intakes manifolds and headers usually pop up on ebay. A dual sidedraft intake just sold for $63.

And here's some Nismo headers: Nismo headers

They may have to be modified for use in your husbands truck but I'm pretty sure any set would since they're all made for vehicles that originally had A series engines. If this isn't a viable option the fuel injected A14 exhaust manifold with it's dual outlets will probably be the next best thing as it will fit the truck and look factory but the exhaust will still have to be made up to match it.

Also, one thing to consider on the intake manifold and what carbs he's gonna use will be the master cylinder location as it's most likely RHD and this may interfere with a twin-sidedraft setup unless it's a twin SU style setup which would probably fit.
