Lagwagon,
Theres a few threds in the Ozdat forum about whats going on.
It all depends on where you live/area your leaving from.
I myself will (most likely) be heading up with the guys from the NDSOC - they are leaving from the Ford Factory at Somerton.
I'm in the process of putting all this infomation together ATM.
Watch this space...

I dont think you should be too dirty with the guy you bought the engine off.

I have had a few rotarys and had a few "rebuilt", unless it is from the factory(or you pay big bucks to a very reputable builder yourself, who will stand behind his product) These things can and will self destruct with annoying regularity.

The guy you got it from may indeed have paid to get it "rebuilt" and it went fine for him and he thought it was a top engine.

I have never seen a rotary that hasnt been thrashed to within an inch of its life, you may have given it a bit of this treatment yourself, I know I always did.

They are are real lottery, some go great, some blow a seal, some score the housing, or maybe just stuff up.

All the parts are only available from mazda and are expensive so builders cut corners to stay competitive and keep the prices down.

As a wise man on this site once said "you pays your money and you takes your chances"

My sympathy goes out to you, after wasting $10,000 I came back to piston engines because I couldnt afford it any longer.

Well, on a lighter note, if there is such a thing here, i sort of thought of it as an unsuccessfull heart transplant where the body was rejecting the foreign, & therefore inferior, transplanted heart.
No?

VIVA reciprocating piston engines & VIVA Datsun/ Nissan ones.
Well,... it was just a thought.

####InG rotarys!!! they are more trouble than they are worth. Too may rotar heads a cunty ####ErS.

Even though I am one of these "cunty ####ErS", I'll try to help out anyway.

IF you don't get any joy from the guy you bought it off, give Interbrown Rotary Performance a call on (03) 59401021, this guy is in Pakenham.

My brother has had exchange engines from this guy in the past. He builds them strong and cheap and the warranty is really good. He knows his stuff.

Tell him your situation and he should be able to help you out. If it's only a water seal (as was with my brothers last 13b) you should be able to exhange it for quite a minimal sum, as the housings and rotors will most likely be fine in your engine.

Cheers.

cunty ####Er

why not try and get an a12 or something, with a standard cross member, whack it in, and get there in that??? At least you'll still be taking your own car.

Good idea, try this link fs: a14 + various parts

There should be enough gear there to get you back on the straight and narrow. . .

This is true as can be.
I sold my rx3 coupe after replacing one engine.
I can build a fun datsun for the cost of building just the engine for a rotary car. Plus far less headaches with car theives and being hassled by the Filth.
