The killer radio still works great but the boom box is too heavy and gotta go

Ahh MatsuSHITa in Katakana Characters in the middle of the swivelling crap of a boom box.
Funny how my Dads friend spoke of such luxury in its heyday.

Hey, a full featured five button AM radio, now that was luxury in the 60's. I will be running the original one of these in my coupe as i only listen to Radio National anyway & thats an AM station.
Note that it is a radio designed for right drive cars with the on /off /volume control on the right, closest to the driver, as these are used most. My 1200 ute had a left drive radio.

Cooool

Ill be putting the heater in there instead and put smaller tweeters besides it.
I usully tune into Radio National on a National Radio also... It shows our age.

NOW i understand. This is the radio in your newly aquired VB10 & it's a '68 model. The heater must have been an option.

I have just taken delivery of a factory service bulletin, it's actually a thin book, & it anounces, & describes the all new B20 ute. It's dated December '67, so the ute was first released as a '68 model.
When it comes to standard equipment,.. it just didn't have any. Everything that could be remotely described as a creature comfort item was an option,... even the passenger side visor. Looks like basic VB10's were the same.
The original speaker went against the firewall on the passenger side. If you want one, i will send you one. The radio in your van is not an original Datsun one.

I only run the original am radio in my coupe as the ABC keeps me informed of all the news I need to know, and if I want music I turn it off and open her up. Thats music to my ears.

I think my 69 kb10 still has the origanal clarion radio but it has FM. Would that still be origanal. It looks origanal.

When dodgeman said about optional extra on heaters made me remember my old man telling about fitting seat belts as optional extras thats going back years

My kb10 had a clarion with FM and so did one of my 2 door sedans. It must be from factory and the highest of options back then?
