I have the Weber and I hate it. It is the worst carb that I have ever used on a 1200. I bought a kit with the Holley/Weber carb and adapters for an A14. I would trade it in a minute for a stock carb. It is hard to fine tune and jets are hard to find. I had to use stock 1200 carb main jets and turn them down a bit to fit them into the Weber carb to do the fine tuning. It took a long time and a lot of extra work to make it run half ass right. I had the same carb on an Opal GT and I hated it then also. The Holly/Weber carb hangs and sticks when I push the accelerator and the one on the Opal did the same. I have tried bending the rod but that hasn't worked right either. A stock 1200 carb is easy to replace main jets for fine tuning and they get excellent gas milage. I will replace it before too many more miles. I want to make a manifold for two stock carbs when I build the next motor. I still prefer SU carbs over all carbs that I have ever used. I am a pro on them. It sure would be nice to have a four SU set up for a strongly built A14.
