I am finnaly at the stage where i trying to decide what bits to change on my engine and after little thought i have been thinking a webber would be approppriate. After trying to search the tech section and previous threads I still have a coulple of questions unanswered. Any help would be much appreciated.

The car will be a daily driver and iam just after abit of a power increase. What size should I be going for to use on a A15? and do i then need to change the manifold also? I would also like to know roughly how much i may need to budget for this. new or secondhand? Any help would really be appreciated guys cheers

Well mate you can go three ways.

1.32/36 weber good for other wise stock engine. weber $85 adapter kit $35 air filter $30-$110 fitting $50 or can DIY. tunning and jetting $70.

2.Single 40mm weber good for engine with warm cam ect.weber $400 manifold $200 linkage $50 air filter $110 fitting $100 tunning jetting $125.

3.twin 40mm webers good for warm engine all the way up to race spec.webers $800 manifold $250 linkage $80 air filters $220 fitting $200 tunning jetting $250

All prices for webers are second hand everthing else is at new price.

the 32/36 tuned properly makes a mild A15 fun. It's cheap and low maintenance.

The 32/36 would be your cheapest power upgrade out of all of them on a stock engine....

but don't pay more than $50 for a 32/36 at a wrecker,
buy a rebuild kit $30,
Air filter the redline box filter with assembaly is about $25
Adaptor plate $35
put it on yourself, it's simple, use the throttle linkage from your hitachi and the throttle cable goes straight on.
go to the weber site and get these diagrams and tuning pages

how far down will u havce to change the jet sizes to suit the 1500 if the carbies came from a 2L

Those sidedraft weber prices are a bit high arent they? I'd expect 45s for that money, but I guess you're talking about carbs in mint condition.
