hey just wondering how strong a 1500 ute diff would be, how much stronger then a 1000 diff, they look a fair bit bigger, and any idea of what ratio it would be?
thank you

Can you be a little more specific about the 1500 "ute" They never actually made a 1500 ute, but they did make 620 & 720 pickups & cab-chassis models.[plus quite a few others]
Perhaps an accurate description of the model will help.

Datsun diferentials were available as H145, H150, H165 & H190 models & the number refers to the diameter of the ring gear in millimeters. The B10 & B20 models [1000 car & ute] used the H145 diferential in an aluminium housing. This is the lightest of the range, but unfortunately, it's also the weakest of them, but is ideally suited to stock 1000's
H145 ratio's are 3.9 to 1 [Datsun 1200s] 4.11 to 1 [Datsun 1000 passenger models] 4.375 to 1 [Utes & Vans] 4.625 to 1 [optional in Utes & Vans] This may give you something to compare against once you figure out what the 1500 model diff is.
Keep in mind that the 1500's rear axle assembly will be a LOT wider than the 1000's rear end.

The datsun 1500 ute is actually a 620 ute. I run one of these diffs behind my Ca18. The track is around 20mm wider than stock. H190 with 29 spline axles and alloy carrier. A few mods required to fit as the pinion angle needs to be changed and also the rear brakes are rather heavy ugly 6 stud setup I cut teh lot off and fitted a mitsi disc brake.
Cheers Andrew620 ute diff
