If you have the fuel injection manifold, then the rest is all plain sailing.
Get a sensibley sized turbo, and build a water to air intercooler. Use the biggest valves you can fit. Pay someone with a good rep to do the biggest port job they can. Get some forged pistons. Have your conrods polished, balanced and shot peened. And cryogenicly annealed. Get aftermarket rod bolts and head studs. Use roller rockers. Have everything blueprinted. Use fangled coatings for the inside of the chambers etc. Underdrive the alternater. knife edge the crank, as well as having it shot peeened and cryogenicly annealled. Cryogenicly anneal all motor parts. run the biggest exhuast that will fit under the car, with the least restrictive mufler you can find. Stick a dual stage nitrous oxide kit on with eight fogger nozzles.Use rings that are real thin for less cylinder wall drag.

And spend more money than I make in a year.

Did I miss anything?

Someone once told me that to get this kind of power from a little pushrod four cylinder engine that was originally designed to be an economy engine, you need a balance beam scale.

Into the dish on one side, you place your engine. To balance it up, you start to stack $20 bills on the other side. When it's all nicely balanced, you take the engine, & the money, to the best engine builder in the country, then wait for his phone call.

Now, i don't know how true that is, but then again, maybee they should be $50 bills.

I guess it can be done, but engine reliability & expected life span decreases almost exponentially once the power figure rises above a certain point. Do words like 'Methanol' or 'Nitro methane' strike a familiar note?

I was under the impression that rotary turbos weren't much chop on piston motors due to the vastly different exhaust pulsing. Is that the case?
Your bank account and sanity will thank you if you fit a CA18DET or SR20DET. Either of these motors can reach 250rwhp reasonably cheaply and reliably.

Steady on peoples

If you can do alot of research and planning and work yourself there is no reason you cant get great power out of the little Aseries

with No thought no planing and no work you will build yourself a handgrenage

but dad used to race agaist a sunny with an A15 20 years ago that had nearly 300hp with T03 and a carby

It all come's down to compresion fuel and boost and a massive head port

If they raced A15's NA with 180hp why not 250 with boost

i didnt want sooooo many people replying crap. i am serious! i ca only use an A14 so if i get defected i can just ake the turbo off and get it of defect. if people are getting 160-180hp with twin webbers and non turbo then 200hp is very reachable. as if a T3 turbo with injection n stuff cant make me 200hp but i just need info of people who have done tis so i dont waste time and moey on mistakes. that shaun guy how can i contact him about his motor? how much power is he pulling with a turbo'd gassed A series

Why are you restricted to an A14?

Umm... ya... Why do you HAVE to stick to an A14 ? and Why 200+hp.

Is it some kind of bet or something? The A14 wasnt stock anyhow, we really are curious
