coilover question?

I've been sent an adjustable coil over kit with spring that fits a stanza strut.
One problem though, is that the higher rated spring is about 190mm in height rather than about 270mm on the standard spring. What are your thoughts on fitting these higher up the strut and losing the travel length of the standard strut? The car will be used only for sprints. Let me know your thoughts cheers Bruce

I'd cut/shorten the strut tube in the middle of where you will weld the "threaded tube" onto the strut. Cut the strut down to suit 240Z inserts.
This is what I've done on my 1200 with 180B struts. Only tack things together at first, and check vehicle height and spring retention at full droop. Good Luck, Chris

yes this will be ok...it will lower the height of your car, the travel length is compensated by your springs having a higher rating than the std 150lbs. I use 190mm @ 300lbs and wind the spring retainers up about mid point. The travel may affect your shock as I had my insert length shortened by approx 50mm. Otherwise the piston in the shock could bottom out if you hit a ripple strip hard....
