Well an engine for your car, that isn't so widely done??? How about a GA16 they look quite nice in the engine bay and would go well in a datto. If you want some power I am sure a VG30 would fit in there as they engine bay on the sunny must be a bit bigger than the 1200.

The parts that I need are:

Thermostat housing
Block to head Dowels
A15 Dipstick and Tube
Waterpump pulley
Block coolant intake pipe with single heater pipe

Im not really after a engine that will make the car quick, im planning on a building a car that is auto, no bigger than 2.5L and have decided has to be a 6 cylinder, and carby not efi. An engine i have considered strongly is a 2.3L out of a ford grandia, you european boys should be familar with them, the engine itself is german built, from block up to carby, they produce around 120hp, only problem is parts arent exactly easy to come accross. my friend has 2 of these motors, one in bits, one complete that is in extremly good condition, it was in a escort but now it has a 2lt pinto.

I'm scratching my head here..... If you're only chasing 120 hp why bother with the hassle of a six? there's plenty of budget fours that will develop those kind of numbers, and very few sixes that are that gutless......

BTW: Mitsu MIVEC is a revvy four that I just researched for a conversion- plenty of detail if you search the posts, difficult conversion tho

put a GA engine in then, you'll love it. Do they come out in a RWD config?

s2000 motor would be mint, buttttttt availability and expense for one is the factor. . . and the fact its out of a *cough* honda. im going for a ford v6, simply because they are a great lil v6, produce a good amount of torque and are strong!.....and because no one else has ever done the conversion on a datto. im not after a ultra quick setup, im after a setup that will be good for cruising, sound good and be --unique--. will be picking up both motors in the weekend. why??. because I can, if your going to crititise any motor or person, go start on those idiots who destroys datsuns by putting wankels in theirs.
