Andrew, are you using these springs unmodified? reay sway bar? are they the same springs as Craig? In the pics, your car looks much more stifly sprung.

Yeah Andrews have an extra leaf as opposed to mine due to the extra load on it. No rear sway bar on it. If the 1200 ones fit the 120Y then they should be interchangeable. If they dont swap over , John does not make them for a 120Y.

120Y main leafs are longer. They are not interchangeable.

the number one cause of axle tramp is shagged shocks. if that's not the problem, just get another standard set of leafs from a wrecker, disassemble, cut the main leaf at the rear edge of where it sits under the diff and add it upside down to the front half of the top of your leaf pack. You'll also need to cut some off the front so it sits just behind the eye, but not touching. And round off the underside of those cut edges so they don't abrade the main leaf as they slide along it as the suspension travels.

Can anyone suggest any fixes for the KB210/120Y coupe, to remove axel tramp?

i have new good shocks in the back but all the suspension places i have tried won't reset my leaves in fear of breaking them. is there anything anyone can suggest?

I take it you didn't like my suggestion?

what shocks do you have?
standard 120Y leaf springs?
lowering blocks?

Sorry L18_B110 i didn't realise that post was aimed at me..... thought it was for the 1200 guys. i'll have to look into it.

I have KYB shocks from the front of a 94 hilux forerunner
in the rear and standard 120Y leaf springs, and no lowering blocks

Mine never really had a problem until I put in the new shocks and reset leaves (2" drop with extra leaf) and the got worse when I put the ute diff in. Its one of those hit and miss type thing though. Sometimes itll spin really clean and other times it will tramp. With an A-series powered car I dont think it is as much of a problem due to the lack of torque. A good launch can overcome the tramp. The other day it tramped in the wet third gear spinning at 5000rpm barely moving though. Rain makes the A-series equal to a CA that is in the dry.
