Yeah but the actuall flange on the diff centre is the same so he will still be able to use the ute tailshaft.

The only Series 2 Bluebird wagon diferential that you need to avoid is one from a wagon that was originally fitted with a four speed manual trans. This version came with a H190 diferential, while all others had the H165 in 3.9 to 1 ratio.

If you want a touring ratio, then find a Series 1 or 2 Bluebird sedan that was originally fitted with the four speed trans. These had a H165 diferential with 3.7 to 1 ratio, all others were 3.9 to 1.

The last of the Series 2 wagons were assembled in the first week of February 1985, however i believe that all of the Series 3 Bluebirds came with the H190 [subject to confirmation] The production run for Series 2 models started in June of 1983

The H190 differential will not fit your 1200 ute rear axle housing which is made for the H165.

The Bluebird rear axle assembly is significantly wider than the one in your ute, so it would need to be narrowed. Both axles are the same length, so that rules out narrowing a long side & running two short axles.

I ended up getting a complete ute rear (with lowering blocks and springs, 4.11) and a spare 3.7 centre, and the speedo cable I was after, for $150

By the way, can someone give me a rough idea as to how much it would cost to get the bearings replaced in one of these diffs, the 3.7 has been sitting for a while and is a little stiff.
I might as well do the rear wheel bearings while they're out, my bro payed $60 for a VN one, would it be about the same for datto?

ps. I know I should just ask the nearest diff place, but I'm a lazy turd.
