Hi there Guys,

I'm in West Aust and I am Doing up a '77 120y Wagon. I'm sticking with the 1200 but I want to supercharge it with a similar set up as Wallys Wagon. Only I want to use fuel injection instead of carby' but i'm not to sure how to go about ignition, weather to keep the distributor or go multiple coils.
Help is needed!

Hey there, "A" series motors respond really well to conventional electronic set up, I'm doing a similar set up to what you described at the moment. I wouldnt be bothered spending the time and money on a "multi- coil pack set up". Cheers. Adam

i setup injection using camira computer and sensors (turbo setup)

i got my hands on a factory electronic dizzy and just swapped the camira module onto the 1200 dizzy, works a treat (also welded up mechanical advance)

can source dizzy for you...

I have a similar set-up to Wallys`Wagon
& i`m using a Holley carb & Subaru electronic dizzy. The dizzy was sourced from a wrecker & is from an 85 Leone. It`s of the same Hitachi family of distributors & requires some modifications to fit a 1200 block.
Basically the alloy boss (the bit that goes into the engine block) has to be cut down to the same length as your original dizzy.
Then the same with the dizzy shaft itself. then fit your drive sprocket & redrill the roll pin hole. Fit the base plate and locate as close to possible as per 1200 dizzy.
Use the original Subaru coil, set your timing and it should fire first go!
I`m running 9psi & 12degrees static timing, without even a hint of detonation (due to the lazy advance curve of this dizzy)
Good luck if you decide to use this distributor & don`t be scared because it cost me a WHOLE $40 bucks!!

So the general go is to stick with a dizzy. No worries! What I dont get is how does the computer know when to advance the timing when needed when it's fixed in the dizzy? I'm thinking of going with an aftermarket comp. like Wolf 3D or EMS, something I can adjust the fuel and ignition maps myself. Also would I be better making my own intake manifold or trying to modify someting to fit or is there a readily available that will bolt straight on. Remember, it will be supercharged!
