Lets see if we can chat regarding the A-series 1760c.c. engine! If the max. overbore is 3mm. or 79mm bore the stroke would have to be 90mm.!! The formula I'm using: bore x bore x stroke x .0031416 = Total C.C. Are you sure it wasn't a 1706 c.c. that would make the bore 79 and the stroke 87 using an A-15 block!! Was the connecting rods the same length??? and/or the pistons used had the different piston pin height to compensate for the same rod length??

Hi Leosnake, I haven't managed to dig up the specs for that motor yet. It was built around 8 years ago and I've been trying to find it since it was removed from the car.The owner got a big case of the guilts. From memory the block was an A15 with liners fitted to get the bore big enough. Because this was a race engine water flow thru the block wasn't a major concern. The pistons were custom machined forgings from Denco Engineering in Christchurch NZ. (They are a bloody good product too)The pin height can be put where you like . The pins were fully floating and teflon buttoned. I can't remember what rods were used so the puzzle at the moment remains incomplete. The crank was a standard A15 which was spray welded to build it's diameter up and offset ground. The crank was also knife edged and crossdrilled as per the Nissan Motorsports manual. It was very torquey and broke plenty of dogleg 5 speeds until a custom made set of gears was machined for it. The ratios were the same Nismo ones but with wider gears and a shallower pitch angle on the teeth. It shattered Datsun diffs so ended up with an F**d Cortina Mark 2 diff( they drop straight onto the spring perchs) With a steel carrier and LSD. As soon as I get some details if I haven't lost them for good I'll post them on the board.

Those 5 speeds from the 77-78 B210 are some cool transmissions. They are much stronger than the 79-82 5 speed trannies. The input/output shaft is the same size as a 280ZX transmission! I had one in my other 1200 for a while and had no problems with that one. I can't fit it in the 1200 I have now as it is a manual transmission body, and the other one was an automatic. If you ever have a chance to get one of these trannies, I highly recommend it, but it takes some mods
