For the past few days I'm trying to solve a problem that I'm having with my carburetor. Initially the problem was that when I reved the engine at a high rpm and let go the accelerator the engine will cut off. This tends to happen when I stop at a corner.I tried adjusting the air fuel mixture, but that didn't work. Then I bought a can or carburetor spray and sprayed out the entire carburetor, but that didn't work either. I then attempted to adjust the float, but still no change. I then took down the carburetor , scrapped it and cleaned all the jets. At this piont I noticed that the gasket was in a mess, so I taught ah ha this is the problem, so I bought a new one set back up everything and did my adjustments, but to my disappointment the problem still exists . The only thing I didn't check is my vacuum lines. Could a vacuum line cause this problem? If anyone has any suggestions please leave me a post message. Thanks.

Yeah, a vacume leack can drive u crazy. Do you have a brake booster on your ride? if soplug the vacume line going to the booster just to see if it stops,I only say that because you say it does it when you stop at a corner.

do you have an electric idle cutoff.thats the hexagonal thing going into the carby just next to the accelerator pump.if the wire has broken on this,or the fuse supplying it power has blown,the car won't idle because it's getting no fuel.check this out,the wire going into the cutoff is delicate & will break eventually.
