I'm with Harry re. the R spec rubber. I have both Michelin road tyres and Falken race tyres and you would need to be trying pretty hard on the street to need the additional grip the falkens provide. They're pretty atrocious in serious rain too.

205/60*13 is a pretty common size - or it used to be...

The local tyre sellers down my way can only source 3 brands of 205/60*13's. Bridgestone, Sumitomo and Yokohama (I think). They tell me this size is getting harder to get. Don't really know whether to believe them or not. You just need to shop around a bit. 205's look good on the back of the ute, but just a bit too big for the front.

You really do need to match tyres to your cars performance and your driving style.

IkLoma!!!! woha thats SOOO expensive, almost rediculous.

Sprite63: No retreads are not illegal, well not in NSW anyway. i bought a set of 33inch muddys for my mullet van (mitsubishi L300 4x4) jut before i sold it, they were a whole lot cheaper than new ones in that size. When they were new if i didnt tell people they were retreads no one could tell but after a month or two they started to peel up at the edges. i wouldnt recoment them for any kind of road based car.

I bought a set of Nankengs for my ute, I got them for $85 each f&b but that is in 185/60/13.

I think they are a great tyre for the money. I am pretty fussy with tyres and they would have been off the ute quick smart if I didn't like them.

They were even impressive on a skid pan.

In canberra re-treads are only illegal on V8 powered passenger vehicles. All 4's and 6's can use re-treads not matter what power they can put out. So you can run re-treads on your 300kw GTR skyline but not a stock 1968 v8 kingswood with maybe 150kw??

Whether they legal or illegal in your State, stay away from them. They have an uncanny knack of peeling off at the worst times.

You just have to look at the number of shredded truck treads you see lying on the edges of our major highways.

I think they still make Yokohama 352s in 205 60 13, they are a good tyre, and wont wear out nearly as fast as the Advans would.
