hey guys the coupe is at the pointy end of the conversion with a fun little busy bee taking place in a fortnight from fellow ozdatters but i need some help.

now some of you may remember i started an L18 conversion into my 120Y a long while back and was using the engine crossmember from a 180B and bolting it into my coupe, well it's in but when i put the sway bar onto the link pins they are puched back on a fair bit of an angle instead of sitting straight so does anyone have any ideas to solve this?

do i need to get a custom swaybar or can someone suggest a swaybar that will fit? the 180B one was out of the question and wont fit.....

It shouldn't be a drama mate. When I refitted my stock swaybar after the CA conversion I had the same issue. I showed my suspension guy and he wasn't worried at all. However, I'm getting a custom swaybar later this year for better sump clearance and I plan to have it made so that the links are upright again.

no pics?
I'd like to see what's going on. I've been trying to think back to my old 120Y, and I'm sure the 120Y bar bolted onto the 180B front end with the link pins straight - just like it was all meant to be there..

There is definately something wrong here.
The piece where the red rubber is must sit straight.

Something I noticed.
The U-joint that is used to bolt the sway bar onto the body, I notice that it has a bolt coming from above and then a nut bolted onto that. As far as I know this must be a Bolt that is screwed into the body from the bottom using a socket.
Did you move the factory bolting location of the U joints?
Can this maybe cause this spacing problem?
Just trying to find out what can cause this.
