this car was typical big rubber some nice seats steering wheel P plater model

the frount rails are rusted through the rear leaves are worn that much that they are only 2mm thick in one spot bushhes are stuffed and the brakes need bleeding so bad it took two pumps to stop it on the car wash

scary what some people drive

That sounds in better condition than my sedan!!

By the way I'm dead serious.

If you need some leaf spring whorida, give me a buzz to organise a time to come pick them up. $20. If you need em. I'd need to check on condition, but they've been stored in a safe dry place.

Cheers,
Chris

Sounds alright man, I'll give you a yell when I get a chance. How's your beast comin' along Chris?

I've shelved the plans to turbo mine as I've come across an original GX engine, plannin' on droppin' in some ol' skool kool!

Back to the topic, any one watch Pimp My Ride on MTV? On an episode last series there was a Ford Laser (Escort in the states) that was cut and shut. The chassis was only spot welded and the gaps were filled with putty.

What's worse is that this car was fully registered. What kinda laws do they have in the US?

My car's coming along, I've done a couple of tanks of fuel. It's finally getting a decent ECU tune on Aug15.

I've seen that PMR episode. It's a cool conversion, but they use a lot of "bondo" as they like to call it. They definitely are not real car enthusiasts. But it's good for a laugh.

dunno about the US, but in canada there's no such thing as yellow stickers. Your car only gets inspected when you want to sell it. then a mechanic has to pass it or something (think they're really strict then). other than that you can chop and change it as much as you like....

some states in the US check mechanical things, but most are solely interested in emissions. It you had a car the made less emissions than the stock version of the same car, it would still fail for being modified.

Here in CA we have the most overbearing smog laws, and the worst roads and the worst drivers. I've seen cars on the highway with 1 wheel hopping off the ground and the highway patrol rolls right by. They'll stop you if you have a loud ricy exhaust though...

I kinda wish we had mechanical checks, lots of people drive around here with bare tires and no wipers and bad brakes.

Las Vegas has a smog check , the rest of Nevada has nothing. B210 is right I've seen cars with 10 degrees negaitve camber and two wheels hoping go right past the highway patrol....nothing. Welcome to the Frontier kiddies.

heh.. .10 degrees! on pavement no less. That must steer really interesting at speed. I had my nissan sentra fun car set up with about 4 negative camber and it made it very fun to drive ( if you like being sideways )
