I saw a manifold for doing that on ebay once. I suppose it's better than having 1 stock carb, but then you'd need 2 stock carbs in working shape, and a single weber is cheaper and would actually be tunable.

No it won't be "too much". In fact, it probably will be "not enough", just like a single stock carb. It's been done before.

If you put two carbs on a single manifold, then it would probably increase high-RPM performance. If put on two separate intake halves, it probably won't make too much difference.

Give it a try and let us know how you like it

I believe this would work. If you take two stock manifolds, cut them up, and TIG one plenium to each of the intake runners, using a side hole so that the two carburator barrels are at 90' to the engine. And make sure that the intake tract lenghts are the same for both manifolds. And then use the port in the other side of the plenium to run a hose or something, to the other plenium to act as a balance tube, it should be sweet.
Some might argue that the air fuel mixture would be incorrect for the engine, but bear in mind that although there would be only half the normal airflow,, and half the normal amount of fuel going in. Each carb is only feeding half an engine.
I've often thought of doing this. Toyota did a similar thing on their K series engines. And on an otherwise similar motor, they went a wee bit harder. It would cost bugger all to build, so you've got nothing to lose!

i suppose it'll work ok, you're using 2 small carbs on a bigger engine, so flow wise it should look the same. Mixture should be more or less right. I don't know how you'd change it on a stock carb anyways.

The only reason to do this is you've got a pile of stock carbs and a welder and you want an adventure.

you'll have to make an aircleaner setup too.

I say do it, you'll learn lots. maybe why not to do it, but you'll have learnt something.
