I'm 21, got a 1200 as my first car and haven't looked back

Im 24. My old man bought a 1200 coupe as a run around car when i was about 8. I didnt really understand the uniqueness of the car until i was old enough to drive.. It was my first car.. I've now owned about 6 1200's, a 120y, and a stanza. I now have one left..

Now my life story...

I'm 16,(no licence YET!) i Bought my car about 5 mths ago from my dads mate $250 bucks (120Y 2dr Coupe '76) and i got it yesterday ive started doing it up and my dad, being a Tradesman! is goin to help me fix it up and paint it, make it look good, last night we painted the Frnt Grill, to day we went to the Wreckers and got some interior and side mirrors oh and a SUNROOF!!!yeh. and it just looks oresum OMG i cant get over it!! AND THATS WHY I LUV DATTOS

I'm 19.
First datto was a 120Y at age about 10, to learn to drive in, then when I was looking for a first car to drive on the roads, a mate's mum just happened to be selling a 120Y, so I got that rediculously cheap, also had a15 120Y, 2t ke55 corolla, s2 bluey. Currently got datto 720 pick-up and datto 1200 ute.


I've always had cheap old-school RWD cars, and I love 'em!

I was 19, my older sister brought a brand new 1971 Datsun 1200. I christened it about a month later. It could out accelerate Datsun 1600's at the lights, up to 50mph, along Canterbury Rd Bankstown.
I still love the little buggers.
They got DATTOTUDE.

Im 34 and have owned many datsun's My first car was a 2ltr Escort at 17.
A year later I saw the light and bought a 71 1200 ute (old dickhead wrote it off)
Then a stock 4 door sedan to repair ute.(rust finish it off )
1980 1200 ute had A15 then 13B jport sold to build house.
1200 coupe A12gx rally car never finished but kept lots of bits.
Went to the dark side again with a mazda 1000 ute with 12a turbo.
120y with the A12gx engine I sold years before.
2x 4 door Stanzas 1x L16 1 xL20b Rusted then raided for parts.
Then my current datto 1973 1200 coupe started off as a stocker and has been developed for the last 8 years first a 150hp A14 race engine then fitted stocko 180hp ca18.Worked it over a bit and in current from makes around 360hp .
While owning the coupe ive also dabled in a few other dattos a series 2 TRX a one family owned 1200 wagon that I sold to phunk
I still own a series 1 bluebird with z18t That I plan to do dirt work in if I dont sell it.
So all up in 17 years Dattos have been my main pasion have made lots of freinds in the fellow datto world and hope to make a lot more.

hey im jono, im 15, im a datto - holic, have been for about 2 years now, i own a 82 model 1200 ute, that im giving a ground up to, i also own a 120y razin pig, a 200b parts, and another 1200 ute parts car.
parents really are quite pissed with me, they dont like '' wrecks'' as they cal them. in there yard. its bullsh|t i tell you.
and yes, that dattobug has bitten, i aint going ne where for a long time.

Hi Guys, im new here, im 31 had my 1st 1972 Datsun 1200 coupe at 18, 73 1200 Coupe at 19 and then a 74 1200 Coupe when i was 20, fantasic little rally buses, wish i had never sold the last 1, now an looking to buy 1 again. My father used to race a 1000 sedan on dirt Speedway track when i was 5 so always been a fan.
