When I was 15 I was saving to buy a '78 vw rabbit, but then I saw my fathers' employee with a '72 1200 coupe and was instantly hooked. I bought a '71 coupe, and have never let go of it. Since then I bought a '73 coupe for parts, recieved a '73 sedan for free, and then bought another '72 coupe for its drivetrain, all while getting into other cars. Currently at age 26, still working on my '71 coupe and preparing to drop in an old itc a12 motor (fathers' friend raced 1200's and the long block came from an old race car that he wrecked. It has a lot of goodies on it.

I'm 24 and have always loved old carby fed cars. I needed something cheap to get to work and having already owned a Gemini, I thought I'd try something different.

Lo and behold I caught wind of a '73 1200 sedan. It was ugly as heck but had a certain charm that I have never felt with another car. Almost romantic.

I'm 35.
I bought my first 1200 in '89 for $1. It was my friends grandmother's. A tune-up and some fresh gas was all it needed.
I got rid of it in hopes of buying a "real" car. A few months later, I bought a 73 sedan. I intended to keep it and learn how to work on cars. After learning me some car repair, I would return to my first car/love, a 71 Buick wagon.
That was 15 years ago. I still have the sedan although I changed the "body" on it after someone T-boned me. The Buick still sits in my parents backyard. lol
The Datsun encompasses all of my hobbies in one. Automotive, welding, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc. After a day or month of repair/fabrication, I can get in it and enjoy it.

Picked up the Nissan bug through a very plebian '89 Stazna that my parents owned...Somehow it called to me and now I have to have at least one Nissan/Datsun around at all times :D

I am 35 yrs of age and since the age of 16 I have always owned a Datto or two. After wanting a escort rs 2000 but couldn't afford it I ended up with a $500 dato 1600. That was the beginning of the disease.. Owned another 2 1600's after that including a 2.5 yr rebuild on one and getting a feature in 92 in Hot 4's... Next sold both to start to settle down and bought a ser 2 Bluebird TRX with Turboed L20 running 180kw at the flywheel that would blow off the first WRX's...After 5 yrs of daily driver sold it for more than I bought it to start building house and what else do you need for building a house than a 1200 ute....Owned the 1200 ute for the last 8 yrs and slowly rebuilt nearly everything on it with very reliable and fun transport...People at work can't understad why I drive this car...
