I log in most days. Except when I physically can't (life gets in the way).

I rarely go into the individual forums, so I occasionally miss things. I'm here often enough to be able to keep up by reading the frontpage postings.

I am member number 8!

Right click properties on your avatar picture, the name it has is your member number.

EDIT : Don't want to mess up the post count for this thread. One per member.

Another way to check your member number:

http://datsun1200.com/modules/xoopsmembers/index.php

Sort by Join Date.

You are right, it's not accurate, I'm member 6

EDIT PART 2:

2036 members have logged in the last 365 days. 600ish in the last month.

I am only new to this forum and initially just read some of the posts.
I have a 1000 ute that I am working on, I hope that doesn`t disqualify me from participating in this forum?Quote:

I peek once in a while. Will do so more often now that the 1200 Coupe I was after since 1999 showed up in my driveway as a birthday present (July 2005). It was a bit neglected. For starters, the tension link to lower right suspension arm was missing both rear bolts so everytime you stepped on the brakes the tire moved back and rubbed on the fender well). But everybody has to start somewhere and it at least escaped the wrecking yard. I'm currently interested in cheap and plentiful (easily sustainable) front suspension parts that can be adapted to the 1200. There seems to be poor availability here of stock 1200 parts (only Koni seems to list strut inserts but they are a bit rich for my blood). The driver's door handles were broken so you had to push the linkage inside the door to get out. I found 85 Mitsubishi pickup door handles fit nicely by drilling slightly closer mounting holes and adding a backer plate for good measure. I got a matching door handle for the other side from an 85 Dodge Ram pickup. The Mitsubishi/Dodge Ram door handles both came from the driver's door of the respective trucks but they have two linkage attachment lugs (steel) so they can be used on either side.

Jim Young

P.S. With California's smog permit buyout, the yards are full of excellent looking cars that can never make it back to the streets. They are a potential gold mine for updating cars like the 1200 though. A complete engine and trans with all parts (fuel injection, alternator, starter, etc), for $130 on a half price sale day. I saw many a V6 and Turbo motor I can dream of installing but I'm aiming at the highest mileage, cheapest to maintain car I can get.
