need help on auto choke and other stuff on hitachi carb

hi all,
my B310 have transplant A15 engine which comes with a hitachi carb with auto choke (from nissan C20 van) anyway my auto-choke seems like comes slow and also 'switch-off' slow. i means when i first start the car the idle is norma, then after few min will got high RPM ( chock working) , and the high RPM will back to normal (choke disable?) after about half hour or more of driving. this kinda hurt the fuel consumption a lot. is there anything wrong with my carb? i wan to adjust the auto choke, can anyone teach me which way to turn for longer or less choke time? ( i read somewhere in tech section here need to loosen 3 screws and turn the thing.. but i not sure which direction) anyway, i not sure if the mech got those hose right. Is there any vacuum hose suppose to connect to the intake part after the air filter? cause there r many hose and one split with a 'T' joint and connect to the 'box' after air filter (before reach the carb) but the pic i saw from tech section on this site only got 2 vacumm hose one for choke pull-off another for throttle pull-off? anyone can help me with this? thanks all

i didnt connect up the auto choke on an a15 carby im using because most seem to do this with age..... if you dont need it dont use it and warm the car up manually wih out it.

is there anything wrong with my carb? Is the electric wire hooked up to the choke? Make sure it has 12v or so when running. To make the choke come off sooner, turn it clockwise:Quote: Automatic Choke Adjustment. To adjust the automatic choke, slightly loosen the three screws holding the round part. Rotate it counterclockwise for more choke, clockwise for less. The nominal setting is on the middle mark (see photo above). If you turn it clockwise enough to make it work fast enough, but then it doesn't close all the way when cold, the spring is probably worn out. Take the choke off, and see if the metal spring coil inside is flimsy. You may need to replace the choke cover. Just get a new one.

oh...
so half hours of warm up seems abnormal. by the way i just check the lining on the cover, it is on center mark ( is it the factory set it to center originally? ) btw, also check the wire, the 12v wire works fine. thanks for the info. (cause last time i check out the tech section, i am confused about 'more' and 'less' , cause i thought more meanse the choke leaf close more) i will try turn it first. So after it warms out i will take off the air filter to check the choke leaf.. btw, taking off the choke to check the spring.. is it many parts will comes out when i take off the cover? sometimes i affraid i cant put them back.. :) unfamilia : and also weather here is not so cold also how to disconnect the choke? i might try it if it works fine..

No need to disconnect it. Just turn it clockwise until it permanently stays open.
It's easy to take off. We only worry about the three very small screws on the outside, and the three washer things on the screws. There's nothing on the inside to fall out.

i meant just adjust it so its permanently open via the screws and flaps..... and dont connect the power except to the anit desieing solenoid.
ant wait for 32/36 with a manual choke, never had a problem with manual chokes.

oic... if no parts will be fall off..
then will be easy for me. :D (my mechanical skills not good so sometimes i cant put some complecated things back) mine not have 'anti desieing solenoid' it is good to have manual choke, kinda miss my old A12 .. :) so i think later i try turn it clockwise one or 2 notch first.

you don't need the choke in our country...
I've even removed the choke cable and put a starter button there :D

basically B310 is only called 120Y in few countries.. in USA 120Y is B210
anyway, the engine will shiver due to icing of the carb. once the engine compartment warms up, everything's ok... you can try be cold start the engine for a couple of minutes, then off the engine... touch the carb and compared to the manifold... you'll feel the manifold is sloght warm, while the carb is cold... kinda like beer cold... or you can do what i do... water injection :D since mine's a manual spray type of water injection... during cold start, when the engine starts to shiver, i'll give it slight throttle (still shiver) and a few squirt of water ;)... that will smoothen it up a bit. Use full when driving during cold mornings and no time to warm up the engine You can view topic.
