I'm intrigued.......
So how do you set up the timing? if you set the primary spark to 10 deg BTDC, then the secondary will come in at 35 deg ATDC..... Is it going to be any use that late

EDIT: wake up..... 45 deg @ dizzy is 90deg of crankshaft so 10 deg BTDC for the primary and 80deg ATDC for the secondary

I would have thought you would want the sparks firing either at the same time (twin plug setup) or in rapid sucession, so one at 10 deg BTDC and one at 5 deg BTDC.

good luck anyway, It will be interesting to see some numbers out of it.

i think it ignites secondary spark JUST after the primary spark - the dizzy cap seems to be set up 1-1-3-3-4-4-2-2

not in the way most would think being 1-3-4-2-1-3-4-2.

i don't see it making a huge difference, but then nissan did invest huge wads of cash in the Z18 so maybe....ah, i dunno.

anyways, kudos for doing something different and proving that it can go together.

now to make it run. i can see it wroking, but i can also see it being a bit of a fizzer.

anyways, good luck.

Hi pro-240c..... um..... I dont reckon the secondary spark is coming in "JUST" after the primary- its coming in 45 degrees later EDIT: $hit.... not 45 dammit,.... 90 degrees of crankshaft travel.

And whats with the 13421342???? that would have it firing again on the exhaust stroke

Hahahaa wacka doo

Ok I have stopped laughing, atleast for a bit anyway

So you have put an 8 cylinder cap on an A series dizzy? Ok
And you have joined ignition leads to make 4 pairs. OK
Have you run it yet? The joins look to be good for nice misfires. The leads look well insulated at the joins.

I note that the firing order is still 1-3-4-2 with the exception it is now 1-1-3-3-4-4-2-2

I have got to give it to you. Thats one highly modified ignition setup.
From memory you put some electronic ignition under the cap and thats how the extra pulses come about.

I am still confuzed as to the freshly built engine part of the other thread, but I guess you could be trying it out on another engine to start with.

And like I stated in the other thread;

I would love to be proved wrong. There is only one way to do that

And finally we have pics.
I guess the idle rev range statements have to be seen in person to be believed.

Sunny?
I am lost from your post. Sarcasm? Well I dont exactly see a clear dissy cap, But it could be a dark clear if there is a thing? I can see the missfires lighting up just as much as the cap I bet is sounds like a v8

1200rc I am happy, As it has finally answered a few questions, even if it did take a few weeks.

Now back to laughing.
