have you seen pictures of it? does it have round rear lights cos the only variant of the 120y I've heard about is the 140Z/ sunny exellent. Mabey it was a racing special only in japan or something

I don't believe that there was ever a GT version of the 120Y. It was a model designation that Datsun didn't seem to use in that era.
The soprts oriented models were known as GX or SSS, depending on where the car was marketed, & how it was equiped.

Is it possible that the twin headlight are in fact two headlights & smaller pair of driving lights in the grille?

There exist once a 120y GT in Switzerland. But it was just a set to buy to update the original 120y with GX head and SU carbs. You find more information about the whole conversion set on this page on the bottom:

Unfortunately it's all in german but the important information should be clear

The link goes to a dedicated Datsun Cherry site that is also in English.
The spec sheet refered to does in fact also have the 120Y listed, but the list of parts is headed "Cherry", so if we have a German speaker/ reader on this site, then perhaps they could clarify.

The part i loved was the dual exhaust in the Competition Parts catalogue for the 120A cherry.
By dual exhaust, i mean that the extractor had two pipes for each cylinder. Thats eight pipes for a 1974 Datsun pushrod[?] engine.
Most unusual. [Dial up users be warned, it's a file bigger than 7mb]
