Now this is where things get tricky, how can you have a good strong power output and still retain driveability? with Turbo power, you get great top end and fairly strong mid range but the cost is lag and sometimes hotter temperatures, with Naturally Aspirated power you can have high compression pistons and crazy spec camshaft making high power at 7500 rpm but you can have a nightmare getting it to idle and drive off in first gear without spinning the wheels or wearing the clutch out sooner and with supercharging you can have some different results by being able to switch the solenoid on the clutch on the supercharger snout off so you can have smooth driveabilty but because you would need to lower the compression ratio for the extra boost and retard the ignition a little your power can suffer during the time when the supercharger is not working. I guess the only answer would be to go with what you like and don't look back. Unfortunateley for me I love HUGE revs from my motorcycle days, love the high pitched screaming turbos and love the sound of the supercharger gears and gilmer belt drives whirring and whistling so I am damned to live in a world of curiosity and forever dreaming of a way to have it all!

i belive it is a a14 crank in an a12 block, . on a12 rods with a15 pistons....

The only real problem with this setup is that the little end of the A12 rods must be bored to take the larger wrist pin of the A15 pistons, which reduces their strength.

I ran A14 pistons in my 1200GX engine for an awfull lot of miles, first at the standard 76mm, then later at 76.5mm, with bored A12 rods. They never gave trouble, but i don't flog my engines like some do, & the possibility of rod failure was always something that i had in the back of my mind.

The right rod to use in a big bore 1200 block with either a12 crank & A14 pistons, or A14 crank & A15 pistons, come from the A12A engine.

I think that an A15 crank in an A12 block would be one of those projects that stoped being fun real fast.

that looks like the "Sport" body (ute), which was less common than the regular-bed model, at least in USA.

Also had 4-speed column shift!
