Thats funny,as i sit in my workshop looking
at my partly completed group Nc 1000 coupe fitted with 2 door sedan doors which
is parked beside my 1000 2 door improved production racing car and down the drive is my 1000 wagon that i have for sale in this section.Yes i am quite sure they all have differant part numbers and they have differant holes for armrests and pull handles, but as we know beggers cant be choosers 35 years later

I just went out into the shed to compare doors & I agree that the sedan door will probably fit the hole in a coupe, although i doubt if it will work vice versa. The ends of the door along the top edge are diferent, & while this may not make any diference in a racer, it will look odd in a streeter as there will not be a match up in panel fit around the door pillar or windscreen pillar area. It may even be necessary to trim some metal on the coupe door to allow it to fit a sedan as the coupe door is not cut away at the ends like the sedan door is.

The door skin for the two door Sedan & the Van is not listed as a replacement for the coupe for this reason, but i'm sure a skilled panel man could modify one door to fit properly in the other bodyshell.

With over half a century of sleeps up my belt
7 thou's owned in that time(one new)i was
beginning to think i was loosing it,however it appears my fears of an early electric wheel chair have come to nothing. On checking my
cars, coupe original doors,i still have them slight damage too busy to fix, wagon doors,2 door doors and a pair of perfect doors without window frames attatched i find all 10 doors are identical in external appearance
I understand my claims do not agree with your parts manuals as this has been the case with datsun for as long as i can rember in lots of cases.Even a couple of realistic ex spare parts datsun guys i know agree. There cross referancing abilitys suck,i was told recently that the 1200 sedan diff centre (steel) would'nt fit the 1000 banjo!! Now everybody knows it bolts straight in!!I dont feel i need make any further comments on this topic Cheers RS

Your observations seem to differ from mine, but then, i was just comparing new doors. One coupe & one sedan. Still, on the basis that you have over 18,250 sleeps behind you, & seven B10's, [one new] what would I know.
I will ignore the evidence before my eyes & defer to your professed greater knowledge.

Pics to compare differences would be good for a better understanding.

Ok seeing as though we are all interested in learning more on topics, lets look deeper into the phyisical differences of the 1000 doors.
I will kick it off with a few pics of one of my for real deal vb10 doors.
Now all we need is pics of a coupe door and a 2 door sedan door, Then we can all be more knowledgeable and have a great understanding on what to look for when purchasing doors for our beloved 1000's. I personally would hate to be caught out buying the wrong doors for my little treasure.

Upon learning all this, each one of us can personally decide if we are capable of fitting or modifying doors from different models to fit out 1000's

Bump.

Sounds like a good idea. I am currently looking at alternate doors for my wagon.
Dodgeman would be good to see your pics of the doors in your shed to see the differences.

Phunk you have a PM
