news just in
the A series head is 15 inches long and the J series is 18 and a total length of about 22 inches. so the head is longer by a bit but i dont have any A series cranks to measure for the overall length ( they are all at work!!) so if u have an A series then measure the overall length as a rough guess

and no im not pulling the sump off to count main bearings :)!!
