Does anyone know if a 120y diff will be a bolt in for a 1000 coupe? They are a lot easier to come by where I live compared to 1200's and 1000's.

There's so much you need to consider to get a hp estimate. But I would guess you SHOULD be able to develop 85-90hp at the wheels with an A14 in 'hot-street-trim', running premium unleaded. Thats without spending major dollars.

To get the maximum out of any engine, you need to consider things such as valve dia, port dia, intake port length, ex header length & dia, cam timing, ig timing,......etc.

A lot of people throw together an engine based on the 'bigger-is-better' theory. Sadly, people spend thousands doing this. But if you understand what is going on, and tune your engine for best performance at a certain rpm so everything is working together you will achieve maximum bang-for buck.

Probably the biggest difference between the SU's and the Webbers is the intake port length, taper (if any) and the smoothness of the airflow path. Hypothetically, If those things are all equal then the Webber still has an advantage as it creates a more refined fuel/air mixture at full throttle.

I've used both. I loved the SU's throttle response and low-rpm torque and the SU's are so easy to tune. However, the webber is clearly a winner (in my opinion) at full throttle. But there is nothing 'wrong' with either.
