Well,
I spent the whole day watching various Datsuns get dyno'ed at Girraween, at the Datsun 1600 Nationals.
What a day.
Andrews CA18 powered 1200 had a freshly rebuilt motor and didn't do any runs on the dyno.
A 1200 Ute powered by a 12A Rotary ran a 80kW or something at the wheels. But there was also a Datsun 1000 Coupe with a A15 and twin webers that pulled a hefty 73kW at the wheels. It sounded very nice and would be a real handful on the road.
As the weather here in Sydney is climbing into the 30s Celcius, it played havoc on several turbo cars power figures. Many were up to 20kW down on normal figures from recent dyno days.
Tomorrow is the Show and Shine, and we expect the 70 entrants to turn out a great day.
Unfortunately my car is still not even close to being finished, but should be there next year.
I'll give you all an update on tomorrow's "Show and Shine" day at Miranda Park in Miranda. For more information on the event go to
www.datnat.com. If you're in Sydney and love Datsuns, it'll be a good day out, and a good chance to catch up.
Cheers,
Chiris
