Anyone ever used a A12 crank in a A15 block????

Looking at doing this as part of my TC head project(must be under 1300cc).

Are they any 145mm rods that anyone knows, that will fit the A12 crank??

ps. all valves open n close using the TC head on the A15 block

getting the rod ratios up would be great for reves but the stroke to bore ratio would be a bit um over square

it would be very top end power wise but if you can get it together it would be great with some development

next question is whats the head off

overly square is a good thing. mentioned the TC head already........off of a Vauxhall.

over square depends what you want most lateer 4 cylinders ive seen specs on recently tend to be long stroke or square

and from other people ive spoken to to the over square makes for big top end with no torque where the under square makes for good torque eg A15

depends on the engine you want LOL

The factory actually made an A13 with a 76mm bore and a 70mm stroke, but this would have been on the shorter 1200 height block. I think that this is what Feral has in his shed from some sort of open wheeler racecar. I think that many racers used them with good results in this class of racing.
Maybee Feral could let us know more. Details and pictures can be found here
At first oversize of 76.5mm bore you get about 1286cc but at second oversixe of 77mm you go over the limit with about 1304cc. I think that this would work out more cheaply and easily than finding long rods for a tall block. I hear that A12 blocks will bore that far, and the big bore A13 seems to be a bit hard to find, so an A12A with an original bore size of 75mm might be a proposition as I hear that the rods have the right pin size for the 76+mm pistons.
