Has any one out there tired or think its possible to take Old weather stripping and make a plaster mold for them? Than pouring Liquid rubber into the molds to make new ones that are shaped the same as orginals?

edit * spelt mold wrong

There's a place called Scott's old auto rubber or something like that which sells a majority of the seals on your car. They have a website and pretty good prices. You should check them out... probably save you a huge headache.

Talk to Dodgeman... he recently bought a set for his coupe. I'm sure he'll give you 'the good oil'.

You dont have to worry about Scotts their Australian, everything is on the level over here, were not some third world backwater that will take your money and you never hear from us again.

I think you can order from them with as much confidance as if you were getting a parcel shipped from the other side of the city.

It will be much easier than trying to make your own.

If your still nervous about the internet, ring them and give your credit card details over the phone.

I bought from Scott's and found him reliable if not a little pricey, but the product was good, and it took the guess work/hassle out of doing it myself.

JC Whitney used to sell all different sets of seals for American cars, and I once considered trying to get a close match to the Datsun seals, which is essentially what Scott's does.

Assuming JC Whitney still carries the various seals, you could easily replace them for less than what Scott's charges.

Subwoofers & I have been swaping a few PM's on this subject & I will add my post for the benefit of others.

Scotts are a reputable operation & if they were to deliberately gyp anyone, then the world would quickly know via the internet. They depend on their good name for future business.

I found the quality of their product to be good.

I agree with Mat, they are a little pricey, but I consoled myself by remembering that he is running a business in a very small niche market, & in a country with a relatively small population. If he closes down, we all lose out.

Bailey channel is the 'U' shaped channel that the door glass slides up & down in.
