What do u think i should put int the box that sits out the back so the sound sounds good. Cuse i belive the metal will just vibrate alot? Maybe foam or something sound deadening. pick it up from auto barn or anywhere that sells sound stuff. even if you go the MDF box, put some in there. This will stop sound from escaping out the box for everyone outside to hear. also stop vibrations. also another tip, MDF weathers. if you use it clear gloss it and paint it or cover it in something else. perhaps, make the box for the sub out of MDF, then sound deadening on the inside and out, then a metal cover over that. this mite be a bit of overkill, but the less the cops on the outside can hear your music, the less interest they have in you.

the sound deadening stuff is called dynamat.
line the insides of ur doors with it and it makes all that tinny noise just dissapear like magic, its sticky tarry stuff on one side and shiny foily stuff on the other. works a treat.

if u want some real good sound in a ute and dont wana make any body mods den do the ffg:
Go with 2 8" rather than the 10" Mount them on your doors at the bottom using a spacer bout 50mm to give it a good solid sound. Make sure your door pads are nice n tight cos it rattles alot but inside the cab u cant hear it. Your complete door acts as a box. Think the only thing that you might have to cut is a bit of metal on the door frame. I have the same set up and it CRANKS! My set up is: -JVC MP3 50*4 front loader -Linertec LT-7 passive cross over -Audio Bank 100*2 amp (for the subs) -Pioneer 6" 120w 3ways on the side pannels for mid (of the deck) -1" tweeters mounted on the dash (of the deck)

You can believe in aliens too if you like. Doenst mean they are true to life.
I like how some say you need an engineers certificate for this. Then in another thread they will say you can legaly and easily put a bigblock in a 1200 and get it registered. You want the facts, ring a ####ing DOT signified engineer, Just like I do when I want to know how, what and why I have to do something so I can an still get rego. You can view topic.
