#1 DIFF CONVERSION
RIPPLEYS Posted on: 2006/2/13 10:45
I am building a 1200 coupe for my son to run in hillclimb As you can,t buy a ute diff i was wondering if someone could tell me a diff that would go straight in with out to much trouble I am only running a mild 1200 with a bit of headwork

im sure the standard coupe diff will be up to the task..

however if you were wanting something stronger you could buy a 2nd hand ute diff as they pop up from time to time

To my way of thinking, the easiest choice is a ute diff - a bolt in conversion. Yes, the H145 will be up to the task (I ran one for ages!) but if you want to hillclimb with a 1200 you will need the 4.875 : 1 C20 diff centre. It will only fit in an H165 housing hence the ute diff is the easy option. I run a C20 assembly complete but saddles need relocating and it is a wider housing requiring flares.
Come up and say hi if you get to Huntley at any time.
Cheers
