Hey All,
My name is Jake and I am a dattoholic.

I recently realised a life long dream and started to assemble the parts to build a KPB110 Sunny Excellent replica. In particular the 1973 Japanese Grand Prix winning #2 Sunny Excellent.

I have recently bought a 1200 coupe and have someone searching for Sunny Excellent parts in Japan.
Most importantly I have bought an early LZ head.

I have been doing a lot of research and this site has been a godsend. The previous owner of the LZ head pointed me in the direction of this site, he is someone many of you know, Feral Errol Smith of Datrats fame.

Current plans is to get the Coupe going with an L14 and get out on the track.
I hope to have it in Sunny Excellent guise and LZ powered with in 5 years if I can find the parts I need. Even if I don't get the Sunny excellent parts I need I still hope to be tearing up the track in a LZ powered Coupe within 2 years.

Any suggestions, tips or advise is welcomed. I have played with 510's for nearly 20 years and I am currently throwing a wagon together for the road and doing a full rebuild on a Coupe.

Here's a couple of pics

Cheers
Jake

Wow nice project!
Are you going to extend the wheelbase too?

I know of a KPB110 GX and seen a PB110 GX sedan in my country.
A friend had bought the coupe but the sedan's owner still refuses to sell despite it being a wreckage!

Yep, will be extending the wheel base.
I want it to be as accurate a replica as possible and will be looking to run a standard front for Targa style events and the mask for track work.

Jake, I can help you out with the TS cup aero kit, less the front spoiler, as the KPB110 used the different chin spoiler. Send me a PM for more details

Thanks for the encouraging words everyone.

I am in Victoria, SE suburbs.

Information on the car is not easy to find, The Nissan global site has a short write up that can be found here.

Benny,
Cheers, you have pm.

Here's a pic of the 1200 I am starting with. This will become a track pig with an L series for now. It may end up the Sunny Excellent replica or it may just be used to sort out the set up and then I will swap it in to a better shell later.

I am currently working out the engine specs but it will be based on a L14 setup with heaps of comp to run on E85.

I am keen to hear any suggestions for front end set ups to suit a L series.

I also have to shorten a H190 and am going to have it bent for some neg camber and toe in.

Also thanks to the Mods for relocating this thread.

Look up R-Fastmotorsport forum member, he ran a L20b in IPRA nsw for a couple of seasons and can probaly advise what did and didn't work in the KB110 for circuit duties. If memory serves me correct it put out 163 HP at the treads.
