I'm going to use the Hilux LSD spool, and i'm pretty sure there is a carrier that doesn't need shortening, that will take the axles and center from the Hilux.

Expect $900-$1800 for a quote.

Saying "I want an LSD for my 1200" is a very expensive and time consuming exercise.

There is no 1 place to go anymore. Dattos are getting old and companies are less wanting to work on them. Because if they break something while working on them, getting spares to fix them is becoming prohibitively expensive or impossible.

Welcome to the world of "D.I.Y".

So my recommendation would be to look at all of the smallish cars and look at what cars came with an LSD option. Then shorten/modify the diff to suit your car. I've gone for the VL Commodore B&W diff (Mostly because they are plentiful and cheap, but the LSD optioned centre was only common on the VL Turbo).

Alternatively, get a H145 LSD from Nismo for about $1000, or get one second hand for $600-$900.

Chris.

DatA15 I have a shortened holden 3.9:1 LSD to suit 1200 for sale I bought it for my CA18 powered beast thinking it was a 10 bolt V8 one as it was advertised !!! . Anyway it is a 10 bolt with 23 spline axles (ideal for A series) the center has been fully rebuilt (never fitted to car) All it needs is some brakes fitted I can even suply a stock diff or change all the brake parts over its been redrilled for datsun stud pattern.
Give me a yell if your interested Its going pretty cheap heaps cheaper than you could find a center alone for.
cheers Andrew

A few months ago, Nissan Comp USA (under new management) had a closeout sale on 1200 & B210 LSD units ~$100 !!!

I didn't act fast enough, and they were gone in a matter of hours. Not that I would be able to run one of these with a DET anyway.

DatA15 do you actually own one of those cats? If not, then you have my vote for the most irritating avatar.
