pretty much - takes all of 20 minutes to break-in a cam. You can probably squeeze that into your week and a half timeframe!

don't forget to take your cam followers in when getting the cam ground - they need to be surfaced. Any reputable grinder will ask for them anyway.

doesn't matter what cam you start with if you are getting it reground, but watch out for the different locations of the accessory drives (distributor & fuel pump) on early A12 blocks compared to later A series motors.

I took my cam that my mate had lying in his garrage to Tony Marsh and he said it is a "Z" cam and is good for 9500rpm but he also pointed out a tooth on the dizzy drive has been broken and replaced. Not so sure I want to use it now.
I rang Kelford Cams and for $220 theyll grind my cam and match the followers and it will be good for 4000-8500rpm. I wont race on the 25th but it will be worth the wait. I described my motor and head and read out my dyno chart and he recons I could easily get 15-20BHP (at the rear wheels)!! YAY.
I just refited new Bilstiens on the front but its to late and wet to take it for a spin.
OHHHHH its going to be good!!
