So, let me get this straight......the cops are allowed to encourage street racing, in order to create more fines.
Doesn't sound like the right thing to be doing to me

If you are silly enough to get yourself caught doing something that you know full well is a legal no-no, then the entrapment is self inflicted. Don't bother whining about it, just shut your yap, cop it sweet, & learn from it. If you want to race, then use your head & think first. Street car grudge racing at your local strip [if available] is a good way to abuse your car without getting pinged.

No, I won't just f*cking cop it sweet. These idiots are going too far. Where I live there is a highway with a ridiculous road toll that just keeps on rising... they've spent millions upgrading it and can't understand why...well, i'll tell you why because the highway patrol is so strict that everyone driving here is on the verge of losing their licence and are nervous as hell. You see people jumping on the brakes and slowing down to 80 everytime another car comes into site. I'm all for getting dickhead drivers off the road, but the cops are creating dangerous, nervous and inexperienced drivers. Young drivers need to go and have a bit of a stuff around (to an extent of course). Its all part of the learning process of how to handle cars in real life situations. And now they are making people race so they can bust them????????? I can't believe anyone can be so stupid

The FUZZ [remember them] aren't stupid. If they encourage the race in an overt way, & you can demonstrate it, that will screw up the whole operation as everyone else that got pinged can claim the same thing.
I have never heard, first hand, of this happening. However, if you are racing, & you offer to race an undercover car, he can persue you & ping you from behind. They know that you will push it harder if you are JUST in front, because they know that you want to stay there. Why were you going so fast officer? "Well, your Honour,.. i was in..... "persuit" You won't win. As for MadTimo, if there is an 80K section of road that they are pinging people on, then drive at 79K. Alternately, If you A. Know that they are there on a particular day, & B. You have at least half a dozen mates available, [the more, the better] then C. Get them all together & drive along this section of road,.........at 25k,...... in second gear. Wear a serious racing expression giving 100% concentration to the road ahead. Racing gloves & helmets are optional. To drive the point home, have the tail ender overtake in a desperate passing manouver,.....at 26k. You can award peer points for facial expression. The one with the expression closest to your favorite racing hero's when he is mixing it in the front bunch, is the winner. It's not a crime as the speed limit is a MAXIMUM one, not a minimum one, & it can be fun. We did it in the Canberra area back in the late 70's & early 80's. It saved a few other drivers from getting pinged. Needless to say, this should be done in front of your appreciative audience of one or two uniformed viewers. Make sure that none of the cars is a visual moving violation also.

Hey guys if u take another perspective on the issue, this could be the birth of a new form of drag racing, much in the same way that Brazilian fight dancing 'capoeira' evolved.
What i mean is: the cops will bust you for any defectable characteristics. As long as you dont wheel spin (excessive noise infringement) or exceed the speed limit, i.e. 60 or 80 whatever it may be, they have got nothing on you. It could even become a new class of racing!!! Ultimately, the winner will not have spun their wheels, nor exceeded the speed limit or have a 'canary' slapped onm their windscreen. You may think this sounds stupid, i know i do. At least this way they wont get the satisfation of busting us having fun

YES YES YES good thinkin. Not so long ago well alrite a fair time back when most of you were a twinkel in dads eyes.Down at the Broad Water Car Park G/Coast late at night a mob of us would gather.Being good citersons behaving our self, and OLD MATTIY would try and stick his nose in.WE would all run for the car doors (up to 20 blokes) but stop at the door stand there looking back at them till thay left.Thay could not ping us for any thing.Best thing is to follow them,DO it all the time in the old H47 Land Bruser NO PROBLEM
IF YOU WANT TO RACE MAKE A RACE CAR AND DO IT ON THE TRACK, I DID AND YOU CAN TO.

call it what you will, it's revenue collecting. If they don't catch anyone the look for something else. Here in New Zealand they introduced speed cameras, they had to be visible. In the begining people were being pinged left, right and centre. now that people are more aware of these cameras their revenue has dropped. So what do they do. they hide them now. Its a never ending circle. Just hope that your never in the minority they choose to target

Actually, "entrapment" doesn't exist in Australia.
Anyway, yeah seen this going on. But really, should you be racing anyone you don't really know on public roads? I wont get up on a soapbox and preach that noone should br racing on public roads, because if I say it it wont change anyone's mind to either side, but really, you should at least know the person, have seen them or talked to them. Oh yeah, and the thing that police officers have to say tha they are police officers thing. That aint too true. And anyway, the key is to just havea car that is continually off the road and you don't have to worry about these things! You can view topic.
