Ok I should have added disclaimer; If a said Datsun lover reshapes their car in a blaze of glory than this is acceptable. A blaze of glory is defined as followed. Stuffing it at a hillclimb , track day or roadrace. also included would be rotating the horizon at a rally - I.E. a rollover.
Over driving your car and crashing on public roads is not a blaze of glory and here is why: At a competition event there will be witnesses who likely have a camera so all lunatic Datsun lovers can enjoy seeing you drive the wheels off the poor car. Also once you compete in a race or rally you will be so addicted that you will fix the car as quickly as possible.

You have to hit something properly. Foot must still be hard up it in a desperate attempt to post a time until it leaves the ground. No point in doing things by half measures...

I guess going through whatever you hit backwards is also acceptable. Any damage in the front of the car only is not....shows a lack of commitment....may as well buy a 4WD turbo if you dont have commitment....

hmmm

sometimes lack of commitment just equals preservation of life

if your talking a big gum tree out in the forest, not a hay bale or tyre wall

Well,... whats the diference between destroying a Datsun that you own, or one that you don't,... by any means,... under any circumstances? [being hit by another vehicle excepted]

I don't think I would be leting anybody near the drivers seat of my latest project, unless the keys were firmly in my pocket. Too much time and effort invested, to let some mindless asshole destroy it. If your willing to let someone drive your datto then its as much your fault as theirs if it goes horribly wrong

I guess that the people highest on the exclusion list would include those that drove their own car into a train.
I don't mean to be sarcastic, but isn't that a bit like the pot calling the kettle black. I guess that by that i mean,...before condemning the driving skill of others, perhaps we should all look at our own records.

Let he who is without sin, etc etc. [whew, thet lets me off the hook]

True true, accidents do happen, stones, pots and kettles, bigger fish to fry, etc. The point I was trying to make is if you put all the effort in rebuilding and careing for your car then only you have the right to wreck it (intentionally or not). Its about perception

Its about remorse. If you rite off a datto or any good car youll always kick youself for it. Because you know what its VALUE is (not just monetary). I rolled
my V8 valiant coupe when Iwas 17 and now whenever I see a cherryed out one it makes me weep. Like wise when I parked mums fiat on its roof in a river , now I see a fiat Im like SO WHAT . Imagine (heaven forbid ) your dodge coming to greif Chris, to a fool who didnt know better theyd think it was no big deal as aposed to the unspeakable tradgedy it would be .

(I sure can rant cant I?)
