Hi all!
I may be possibly acquiring a vehicle with a B-210 (1250??) motor/trans and I'm trying to find out:

A) Are stock parts readily available, and where?

B) Are there performance parts available for this motor?

Thanks for your help,

Ed

Where are you located? (fill in your location on your profile)

There are tons of a-series parts out there but different locales have different levels of availability. If you let us know where your from we can tell you where to go.

I'm in N. Alabama

I just assumed the net would be the best place to shop.

So, you're saying I have an A-series motor?!

(what ever that means)

I believe you probably have an A12a engine of 1237cc. Look at you serial number and it should start with the A series number. A12, a12a, a13, a14, or a15. Many modifications are possible, including going to 76mm pistons which I believe brings you to 1280cc. A popular upgrade is to get A14 (1400cc) pistons for this upgrade. The head can be ported & polished and you can change Carburetion. I am building a Locost 7 with a A12a engine and am using twin side draft Delorto 40s.
I believe many of the parts for A series engines are interchangeable.

Look on a dally basis on this forum for upgrade ideas. I assume N. Alabama is in the USA? Many of the people here are from Australia, NZ, SA as well as other parts of the world. Many options are regional. EBayMotors is a great way to look for parts. search for "Datsun (1200, a12, a12a, a13, a14, a15, 210, b210)" and then do it again with Nissan instead of Datsun.

A "B-210" (with a dash) is a US-model Datsun from 1974-1978 model year. This is Nissan chassis code B210.

The engines were:
1974 - A13
1975-1978 - A14

DOG, the A12A was only used in US for the 1980-1982 "210" (Nissan chassis B310).

Every parts store in the US carries or can get maintainence parts for these engines: Schuck's, Kragen, Grand Auto, NAPA, etc. Or get the parts from your local Nissan dealer. Repair parts may not be available from all these places.

My map only has Alabama, no North or South ?

I still love the lightness of my A12a

New Guy - an A13 is 1300cc and an A14 is 1400cc. Many people upgrade to A15 which is 1500ccs.

Great Info gang!
Thanks!

If I do get the vehicle, I'll pull the serial # off and go from there!

Thanks again, this is exactly what I was looking for!!
