To stick with the question actually asked, here's another view.
I've seen a few 1200's running around with the Bluebird TRX 15" rims. These are not too expensive, reasonably available, & seem to work under 1200's, although i have only seen them on utes. The center cap on series 1's says Datsun, while series 2's & 3's say Nissan. The wheels thenselves are the same. If you do get these, do everything in your power to get the original wheel nuts as these have a taper face, like a regular nut, & not a washer like aftermarket stuff. These nuts are available new, but run out to something over $100 for a set of 16. I know, because i bought a set of them to mount my SX wheels on my 200B.
Apearance wise, they look quite good, but do not have the same appeal , or PRICE as the exotic stuff. At 5-1/2" wide, they do not impress the "cool racers" but this is actually a very practical size for a 1200 & there are tyre sizes available that make them look good more affordably than for the wider rims.
Conclusion. Good value for money in style & practicality, & it keeps it all Datsun [or Nissan]
The 14" rims were 6" wide on the aeries 1 LX model, & my original accessory brochure says these were an accesory on the other models, but looked pretty damn mediocre. The series 2 & 3 LX's had a diferent 14" wheel of 5-1/2" width & looked pretty ordinary too, but are a possability if someone gave you a mint set for free. All the Bluebird Mags, along with the 200B's SX & Aspen models, used the same mag wheel nut.
Conclusion. The TRX mags are probably the best of the Bluebird mags.
